Missile Defense Systems (IAMDS) Department is seeking an
experienced Chief Engineer to join the NASAMS team located in
Andover, MA. The successful candidate will be experienced at
leading hardware, software, and systems development efforts
necessary to propose, implement, verify, and deliver systems. - -
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the development of the
technical vision and strategies of the program which is delivering
capabilities and services to our end users. The technical
leadership position requires a top performer with the ability to
bring together and lead a multi-disciplined, cross functional team
in the execution of programs goals. - This role will require
regular engagement with customer counterparts as well as with
internal teams, and active participation in customer and program
technical reviews. The Chief Engineer serves as the primary
technical interface to the customer to determine the technical
solutions to their requirements. The candidate will work with the
Program Management Office (PMO) and key stakeholders to develop
deliverable packages and will be required to support meetings with
the customers. - The Chief Engineer will ensure compliance with all
external customer reporting requirements from a technical
standpoint while also meeting the reporting needs of the Program
Manager; - also plans, organizes, and administers technical
reviews, coordinates engineering designs and builds, monitors and
day-to-day operations, provides suggestions for all major technical
decisions and designs, and represents engineering on the management
team. - Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Manage the internal RTX engineering team and also work with the
Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace (KDA) technical team on a regular
cadence.
- Respond thoroughly to technical requests and questions from the
PMO, customer and end users in a timely manner consistent with the
urgency of the ask
- Develop the technical vision and strategies of the
program.
- Provide project technical leadership and coordination across
the program lifecycle; capture and requirements development through
sustainment.
- Coordinate closely with the Program Manager regarding budget
and schedule.
- Provide engineering program execution and technical leadership
for the NASAMS program from proposal development, to integration &
test and product delivery.
- Guide and direct other engineering team leads to achieve
program and technical success
- Provide engineering authority to all decisions impacting
product integrity, system performance, and system
functionality.
- Provide technical support in developing and maintaining the
analysis to predict overall system performance.
- Coordinate, write, and deliver technical presentations to both
internal and external customers
- Provide guidance on import/export of technical documentation
and discussions. Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
(STEM). An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted
for additional years of experience as follows: An Advanced Degree
in a related field and minimum 3 years experience. A Ph.D. can
account for 5 years of experience as required for this
position.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in related Systems
Engineering or Multi-Disciplined Engineering
- Proven Experience effectively leading multidisciplinary teams
of systems engineering professionals
- Experience leading teams and IPT's, using tools and metrics in
managing activities, and interfacing with senior program and
functional management
- Experience as a Lead Systems Engineer, Multi-disciplinary
engineering lead or Chief Engineer on previous programs
- Excellent communication skills with prior experience presenting
to customers and senior leadership
- Active DoD Secret security clearance Qualifications We Value:
- Ability to travel to support the program needs as necessary,
including international travel.
- Self-starter - proactive in determining goals and -objectives
and pursuing the necessary course of -action
- Experience with MS Windows operating system -and MS Office
products
- Experience in preparing customer and/or -management level
briefings
- Experience in schedule development, action item -management,
requirement change management -and overall development and progress
metrics
- Working knowledge of the Raytheon Technologies' products and
services
- Experience working with external customers; including
International, USG, or FMS partners
- EVMS Certified (or equivalent)
- Tech Advisor trained
- Proposal support experience including writing Basis of
Estimates (BOEs)
- Knowledge navigating the organization and working with
stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program
challenges
- Familiarity with FMS and DCS Contracts
- Manufacturing knowledge and/or experience
- Import/ Export knowledge and/or experience
- Execution of testing for subsystems in various laboratory or
field environments
- Interfacing with supplier/vendors providing module
requirements/specification to support subsystem designs What We

role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a
good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX
considers several factors when extending an offer, including but
